Review: Leofoo Village Theme Park with KKDay

Leofoo Village Theme Park is probably the most well known theme park in Taiwan, thanks to their unique amalgamation of safari parks, wildlife attractions and thrilling rides. The theme park also boasts the Screaming Condor, the infamous inverted shuttle coaster featured on Running Man!

We were quite disappointed that day because the water park was closed, most of the Arabian Kingdom was under renovation and the Screaming Condor wasn’t available as well! We also missed the iconic Nairobi Express, the tram trip through the safari, because it closes at 4.30 pm, 1 hour before the rest of the theme park 🙁 so do take note to hit the African Safari area first! But it was still a great experience, I really loved the attention to detail and decor of the whole park – super Instagram-worthy!

African Safari

We were greeted by this adorable bunch of meerkats at the entrance! I am not ashamed to say about 20 people were judging me as this photo was taken.

Flamingos!

Horses!

So this segment of the park is mostly animals in their enclosures and a pretty chill roller coaster called the Sahara Twist. We missed the bus/ train that takes you through the wild animals, but it was still a cool concept of having a zoo with a theme park!

Arabian Kingdom

I really loved the decor of this section of Leofoo! Made me feel like I was transported back into Aladdin’s world ~

This is the Ring of Fire, spinning riders around in continuous loops. You can see Ade gravitating towards it already…

Pearl got tricked by the Turkish icecream uncle a few times but eventually got her cone!

Lots of photo-worthy spots here, so we went a little crazy being tourists. NO FEAR OF JUDGEMENT.

The looming towers and Middle Eastern decor was all very charming, but most of the rides were closed, including this lovely carousel 🙁

So we decided to catch the 12.30 pm show! It was pretty cool, with a wide range of performances, but not really my cup of tea.

South Pacific

I think this is my favorite section of the park, because of the water rides and dinosaurs! Not that I would ever take the ride… but I just love being around water HAHA add a water feature to any place and I’m instantly 10x happier.

We also stopped for a quick bite next to the Lost World. I don’t have much expectations for theme park cuisine (usually overpriced and mediocre) BUT I loved this flower shaped burger!! The mantou was so soft and warm and the fried chicken patty was juicy and crispy. We enjoyed our much needed lunch break thoroughly 🙂

While the rest went for more thrilling rides, I persuaded Jo to sit on this… floating boat ride LOL called the Kid’s Catamaran oops. It took us like 20 minutes to get around – excruciatingly boring. I tried to climb to the front of the boat but got scolded.

Crazy girls who went for the Mighty Mountain Flume Adventure, the water boat ride with 2 steep drops! Raincoats were clearly useless…

A few of them went for Pagoda’s Revenge too, this vertical drop ride. Meanwhile, I just stayed safely at ground level and took photos with this adorable mermaid.

Wild West

Loads more photo opportunities in the land of cowboys and horses! We were so tired out by then, cos’ Leofoo is HUGE and the sun was burning 🙁

We loved the Big Canyon Rapids Ride! Haha we were deftly avoiding all the splashes and waves all the way, determined not to get wet, until we realised there was a curtain waterfall we had to go through ._. So all of us got wet anyway, qexcept Ade cos she wrapped herself up in her raincoat like a goondu.

All in all, I felt like we didn’t really experience the full awesomeness of Leofoo, because so many parts and rides were closed! So if you are planning a trip there, it would be good to all ahead to check if the whole park is accessible, including the water park. Still, worth a visit, especially for families!
