Review: YOTELAIR at Jewel Changi Airport, Singapore

Unlike what seems to be 80% of Singaporeans, I utterly detest queueing, so rushing to Jewel Changi when it opened was definitely not on my todo list. But we had the opportunity to check out the newly opened YOTELAIR in Jewel Changi Airport, Singapore so I scheduled our stay about 1 month in, hoping to avoid most of the queues. Also, I figured if we get tired queuing we can just take a break upstairs in our YOTELAIR cabin 🤣🤣

The night before I was deciding what to bring and so I Googled for the YOTELAIR Changi’s number and gave their front desk a call at 6407 7888 – it was surprisingly easy to reach a human being! You can give them a call if you have any questions.

Directions to YOTELAIR Singapore at Jewel Changi Airport

Walking in from the level 2 drop off point at Jewel, I expected to get totally lost but YOTELAIR is just a left turn and up the long escalator straight to level 4. It’s tucked away in a corner around Lobby E, just a few steps away from the iconic rain vortex.

Facilities in YOTELAIR Singapore at Jewel Changi Airport

Check in was smooth as butter with YOTELAIR’s airline style self-check-in kiosks – we just walked in, entered our details and snapped a copy of our ICs at the self-check-in terminals and made copies of our room keys by ourselves! Suaku me is super impressed 👏👏

There are 2 levels in YOTELAIR – L4 and L4M. Cabins are on both levels, but the lobby (Mission Control), lounge (Komyuniti) and gym (no fancy name) are all on the lower level. I loveeee Komyuniti – it’s where breakfast is served and there is also free flow drinks plus comfy lounge chairs for you to relax after trawling through the humongous mall.

Komyuniti also has a partial view of the rain vortex and is exclusive to guests only! It also serves as a chillax coworking space for travellers who need to catch up on work on the go (like me). Other facilities within YOTELAIR includes a pretty snazzy 24/7 gym so guests can make the most of their stay, regardless of the time.

It is refreshing how YOTELAIR adapts the essential elements of luxury hotels into smaller, smart spaces in well-connected locations to provide great value and convenience to everyone.

The YOTELAIR cabins are designed for travellers and short stays so don’t be expecting a huge room with full length windows. The rooms reminded me of our stay at The Millennials Shibuya – a really clean, comfy and chic capsule-sized stay! All Premium Cabins include YOTEL’s signature adjustable SmartBed which can convert from a sofa to a bed with rejuvenating rain showers and SMART TVs, multiple power and USB points for ultra-connected millennials like us!

Do note that they don’t have bathrobes so you either have to sleep nude or bring your own pyjamas! They do have soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, hairdryer, iron (available upon request), towels available. I didn’t see shaving kits, combs, cotton buds and pads or shower caps but I think they are available upon request – you can give them a call to check.

What to do at YOTELAIR Singapore in Jewel Changi Airport

Located in the newly-built Jewel Changi Airport, YOTELAIR is a short distance from all four Changi Airport terminals and we really enjoyed the doorstep access to all of Jewel’s F&B options. Super shiok to be able to explore the mall until midnight and then just head upstairs for a break before popping down for midnight snacks (like A&W and The Alley)! The next morning, we initially planned to wake up at 9 am to queue for Shake Shack which opens at 10 am but we overslept. Luckily the hotel is just above Shake Shack so we rushed down and still managed to join the queue when it wasn’t too long yet!

Also, nearly every eatery has a queue at dinnertime in Jewel, it is quite ridiculously overcrowded. So we kept popping down from our cabin to check on the queues, waiting for them to dissipate to minimise waiting time 😉 Quite a good method to catch the off-peak periods and avoid the queues.

We also waited in comfort within Komyuniti, lounging on the armchairs for the light show at the rain vortex – no need to squeeze with everyone else in the mall with our own private viewing area.

Booking Information for YOTELAIR Singapore at Jewel Changi Airport

I adore having a trendy, no frills travel hotel in Changi; it’s really what a lot of budget-luxe travellers like myself need. When planning for our next trip to Norway, I was trying to look for lounge and shower options in Oslo’s airport to freshen up before our train connection to Bergen but they didn’t have lounge passes for normal ol’ travellers like us. Hint hint, Oslo Airport. Not everyone has frequent flyer membership so pitstops like YOTELAIR at Changi Airport are fantastic for millennial travellers!

Best of all, YOTELAIR offers stays bookable by the hour for a minimum of four hours, perfect for shorter daytime layovers to overnight stays 😏 If you just need a shower after a particularly grimy flight, you can book shower cabins at just $20 per hour to wash up – they come with toiletries and towels as well!

Last I heard, YOTELAIR is offering an opening promotion for overnight stays in a Premium Queen cabin and day let stays with rates starting from S$140 per night and S$80 respectively. For day let stays, a minimum of 4 hours is required to book, with a price increase of S$25 every 2 hours.

So if you are keen to check out Jewel Changi Airport, why not book yourself a stay with YOTELAIR so you can rest your feet after trudging through all 135,700 sqm of the mega mall?

Trust me, you will thank me for this tip after the 6 hour long wait at Shake Shack! Book your stay here at https://www.yotel.com/en/hotels/yotelair-singapore-changi-airport and let me know how your experience at YOTELAIR was 🙂
